February 10, 2024 marked the end of the Budget Session 2024 of Parliament when both houses were adjourned sine die. The session which began on February 01, 2024 was scheduled to end on February 09, 2024. However, since Central Government tabled a 'White Paper on Indian Economy' in Parliament on February 08, 2024, the session was extended by 01 day i.e., till February 10, 2024 for consideration and passing. Interestingly, this was the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha before it goes for general elections in April-May 2024.
While the 15th session of 17th Lok Sabha (LS) witnessed introduction of 07 bills and passage of 12 bills, the 263rd session of Rajya Sabha (RS) witnessed introduction of 03 bills and passage of 12 bills.
The Parliament Session concluded with high drama and intense debates on the State of Economy during discussion on White Paper on Indian Economy.
